Iris K. Shim is the writer and director of the 2022 American supernatural horror film Umma (Korean:). In Korean, the word "umma" means "mom." Fivel Stewart, MeeWha, Alana Lee, Tom Yi, Odeya Rush, and Dermot Mulroney are among the cast members. The film's producer is none other than Sam Raimi. Sony Pictures Releasing released the film on March 18th, 2022. Critics were divided on whether they liked it or not.
Amanda, a Korean immigrant, and her daughter, Chris, run a rural farm where they raise bees and poultry and don't have access to any of the contemporary conveniences we take for granted. An evil ghost is unleashed on Amanda when she gets the cremated remains of her deceased estranged mother from the land of her birth.
