New Ambulance Featurette Is All About How Madman Michael Bay Uses A Drone

I've never had a drone of my own, but I recently went into a Michael Bay-induced rage and begged my closest buddy to go out and get one with me. After savoring the view, I broke our mutual quiet and said, "Should we buy a drone?" as if we were going to the pet store to select a new puppy. We both laughed and agreed that it was a good idea. A puzzled look and the reminder that "drones are sort of costly" were all it took to talk me out of it. And while I completely agree and have no idea what possessed me, it opened a door in my mind that allowed me to better comprehend Michael Bay's approach to action films.

Drone photos are nasty, movies are enjoyable, and technology is all three of those things at the same time. When it comes to Bay's new film, "Ambulance," he doesn't make it any more difficult than that.

Bay's career apex is "Ambulance." The film chronicles the stories of two adoptive brothers, war veteran Will (Abdul-Mateen) and career felon Danny (Gonzales) (Gyllenhaal). For his wife's medical costs, Will partners up with his brother to pull off a massive theft.

The two steal an ambulance manned by EMT Cam (Gonzáles) when things go wrong, and you know things are going to go bad from the get-go. And if you believed Bay wouldn't go all out to make this the most action-packed action film ever, you're going to lose your money.

In Gyllenhaal's own words, "Michael Bay strives to capture a scene's dynamism. With all his might, he's attempting to keep up with what's living. "

A Bay of drones

Forget moving or driving—really, he's flying in this situation. With FPV tech, the drone pilots in "Ambulance" are able to watch what their drones are filming in real time, similar to a VR headset, because Bay and his team are utilizing it. A world champion in the drone racing league, one of the pilots in the featurette, Alex Vanover, lets you know precisely what type of look Bay is aiming for. It's more "camera go fast woo!" than "real estate salespeople employing drones to shoot calm b-roll of a McMansion."

That's perfectly OK. However, unlike "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," I really hope no drones or employees were hurt during the production of this picture. I'd like to know whether any of the drones lost something, such as a wing or a leg. I'm thinking of adopting.

On April 8, 2022, "Ambulance" will be released in cinemas.
