Plot:
March 1983 Indian cricket squad was picked for the third world cup to be hosted in England in June but none have their expectations from the team, while authorities aren't thrilled with the nomination of new skipper Kapil Dev over Sunil Gavaskar. The Indian cricket team begins with a bang at the world cup by winning their first two matches against the mighty West Indies and Zimbabwe but dropping their next two matches against West Indies and Australia puts them in a do-or-death scenario against Zimbabwe to remain in the competition. During the major match against Zimbabwe half of the squad is returning to the pavilion considerably before the 10 overs with the score as 17 runs for 5 wickets. Kapil Dev puts a one-man show by obtaining a good winning score for the team and keeping their dreams alive in the competition further the team spirit gets them to the final at Lords against the two-time world champions giants West Indies. The squad which was not thought worthy by everyone achieves History solely because to the trust of one man Kapil Dev.

Kapil Dev is said to have provided Singh with specific instructions before the filming. Former cricketers Balwinder Sandhu and Yashpal Sharma supervised the star-studded training camp at Dharamshala Cricket Stadium.
